With or without food

Follow your doctor’s prescription for dose and duration

Typical adult doses:

Gastric ulcer: 20 mg once daily for 8 weeks
Duodenal ulcer: 20 mg once daily for 6 weeks
Reflux esophagitis: 20 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks; maintenance dose: 10–20 mg once daily

Ulcer prevention with aspirin or NSAID: 10 mg once daily

H. pylori eradication (triple therapy): 20 mg twice daily with amoxicillin and clarithromycin/metronidazole for 7 days

Children under 18: Not recommended
Elderly: Use cautiously due to decreased liver/kidney function
